Chomeiji Sakuramochi Yamamotoya (長命寺桜もち 山本や)

Tokyo / MukojimaJapanese sweets

History

The business began selling sakuramochi outside Chomeiji Temple in 1717. Its sweet bean paste is enclosed in a thin, baked wrapper, a style associated with cherry-blossom viewing along the Sumida embankment.

Sakuramochi (桜もち) is a sweet bean-paste confection wrapped in cherry leaves. This shop makes a thin, crepe-like wrapper around the filling.
