Funabashiya — Kameido Tenjin Main Shop (船橋屋 亀戸天神前本店)

Tokyo / KameidoJapanese sweets

History

Founded in 1805, serving wheat-starch kuzumochi to visitors to Kameido Tenjin. The present shop was built after the war and is not the original building.

The specialty is kuzumochi (くず餅), a sweet made with wheat starch. Despite its name, this shop's kuzumochi is not made from kuzu root. Anmitsu (あんみつ) is a cold agar-jelly dessert with sweet bean paste.
