Kameya Yoshinaga — Teramachi Oike (亀屋良永)

Kyoto / Teramachi / OikeJapanese sweets

History

Started as Daimonjiya Shozaburo in 1832 and changed its name to Kameya Shozaburo in 1860. After wartime forced evacuation and the widening of Oike-dori, it moved to its current location in 1952.

Oike Senbei (御池煎餅) are thin baked crackers. The shop also sells seasonal fresh sweets to take away. Use the Teramachi Oike address to distinguish it from Kameya Yoshinaga on Shijo-dori.
