Nakamuraken (中村軒)
History
Founded in 1883. The shop has made sweets near Katsura Imperial Villa, with Mugitemochi as its specialty. Today it offers takeaway confectionery and an in-house tea room.
Mugitemochi (麦代餅) is a soft rice cake filled with chunky sweet bean paste. You can buy sweets to take away or visit the tea room during its separate opening hours.
