Awashin (粟新)

Osaka / SumiyoshiJapanese sweets

History

Founded in 1892. The shop makes okoshi by steaming, drying and roasting rice in-house. Its present premises are in Kamisumiyoshi, east of Sumiyoshi Taisha.

Awa-okoshi (粟おこし) is a crisp grain sweet; this shop makes it from rice. Buy sweets to take away, as the tea room does not open regularly.
