Takoume — Main Restaurant (たこ梅 本店)
History
Founded in 1844. After losing its premises in the war and operating temporarily elsewhere, it returned to the present Dotonbori location in 1949. It has continued its kantodaki and sweet-simmered octopus tradition through further closures and reopenings.
Kantodaki (関東煮) is this shop's name for oden, assorted ingredients simmered in broth. Sweet-simmered octopus (たこ甘露煮) is another specialty. The 90-minute seating limit applies to this main restaurant.
